POST (Pediatric Oncology Support Team) Program

Parent-Child Center's Pediatric Oncology Support Team (P.O.S.T.) is a unique program designed to provide comprehensive psychosocial support to children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Whether a mental health counselor helps with the anguish of diagnosis, a Child Life Specialist helps a child handle emotions through play therapy, or the nurse educates the families on procedures, each person plays an important role in the lives of the families dealing with their child's cancer.

The P.O.S.T Program helps children with cancer and their families deal with the impact of diagnosis and the journey through treatment. The team’s mission is to provide a complete range of free comprehensive services to pediatric oncology patients, both inpatient and outpatient, within a six county area, regardless of treatment site. P.O.S.T. is staffed by a highly qualified team of dedicated professionals with a wide range of experience and training in the areas of mental health and pediatric oncology. Team members include licensed child & family therapists, a research/education nurse, case manager, and child life specialist. Click here to learn more about our staff!
