Prosperity Centers
  

 

Prosperity Centers offer Palm Beach County residents a one-stop source of financial empowerment services, including a matched-savings program for home ownership, help in resolving credit issues, money management assistance, benefits assistance and access, education and job assistance, plus free income tax filing services. 

 Operated through a partnership with United Way of Palm Beach County, our four Prosperity Centers are located in Belle Glade, Delray Beach, Pahokee, and West Palm Beach.
 

 

 

Below are details of each service offered at a Prosperity Center:

  • Home Ownership and Individual Development Account (IDA) Program
    The IDA Program is a matched-savings program for homeownership or for a micro-enterprise small business. Please see above for complete details.
  • Money Management
    Through the money management service, residents can receive credit counseling and help in resolving credit issues, learn how to manage a checking or savings account, and learn how to manage a budget.
  • FInancial Education
    Information is a powerful tool.  Prosperity Centers offer, Financial Fitness classes, homebuyer education classes and individualized information that help families find their own path to prosperity.  
  • Educational and Vocational Assistance
    Prosperity Centers can help residents learn how to obtain a better job, earn their G.E.D., receive educational and vocational planning, college placement, and financial aid. 
  • Free Income-Tax Preparation Assistance
    The free tax service provides year-round tax service for filing present and past taxes. Last year, through United Way’s Prosperity Campaign, residents who used the free tax service saved $1 million in filing fees. 
  • Benefits Assistance
    This service screens residents to see which benefits they are qualified to receive such as food stamps, KidCare, Medicare and Medicaid.
