Psychiatric Services 

Parent-Child Center’s Medical Services Program provides outpatient psychiatric services, with a focus on the treatment of behavioral health issues in children and adolescents up to the age of 18 years old. Psychiatric services are also available to the adult family members of the children we serve and women referred through the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County's Healthy Beginnings Program, with a focus on the treatment of postpartum depression. 

Typical presenting problems of the children and adolescents we serve  include depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, difficulty concentrating, and developmental or behavioral concerns. Our team of psychiatrists are board certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry with years of experience and training in the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families. The team also consists of an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), under the supervision of a board certified psychiatrist provides assessment and medication management. She has specialized training and experience in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry.


Parent-Child Center also has a contract with the School District of Palm Beach County and provides psychiatric services at Indian Ridge School in West Palm Beach.

 The psychiatric team works closely with our therapists, case managers and interns, utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach to meet the needs of each child and adolescent.

Services include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations with multimodal treatment recommendations;
  • Recommendations regarding the need for further evaluation with laboratory/radiological studies, medical/neurological consultation, psychological testing and speech/language assessment;
  • Ongoing medication management when psychopharmacological (medication) intervention is indicated; and
  • Initial and ongoing consultation to school personnel, therapists, case managers and community primary care providers.

Services are available in English and Spanish. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 6:00pm. In addition to accepting some private insurances and Medicaid, we work on a sliding fee scale. Funding is available for families who are uninsured and can not afford to pay for services. No person is denied access to services on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability. In the event we are unable to meet a special need of a client, an appropriate referral will be made.
